Cosplay on a Budget Panel at Awesomecon!
"Costumes are fun, but not everyone has a fortune to spend recreating Iron Man’s armor or their favorite movie alien. We will cover basic prop modding and finishing, found object assembly, closet & thrift shop cosplay, sewing tips and tricks."
I’ve been invited by my good friends, The Steampunk Family, to take part in a panel with them called “Cosplay on a Budget” on Saturday at 12:15 pm. I’ve never done a panel before, so it should be both nerve-wracking and exciting at the same time. I’ll be talking about thrifting for cosplay finds. :)
It’ll take place in Room 204C.
The Steampunk Family themselves are all very creative, innovative, and kind people. Very helpful and always happy to answer questions. And Phineas, the husband and father, knows how to do so so much sewing and building-wise.
Hope to see you there!
you're going to awesomecon? I hope I see you there ily so much!

Got pulled over for the first time ever today. For something I wasn’t even aware was wrong. I’m using my dad’s old Mercedes this week until I can go to look for a used car either tomorrow or Sunday, and a cop pulls me over for something on the tags being expired (wasn’t inspection) and tells me that the numbers don’t match on the registration to the ones on the tags. And since it’s an antique car you have to have special tags allowing you to be be legal to drive it for everyday use (or else you can only use it for recreational purposes). I’m completely clueless on ALL of this because it’s my dad’s car. So I get a citation, and I’m still figuring out if it’s me or him that has to pay the $500 fine. I get home and call him to tell him what happened, and he says the new tags ARE IN THE BACK OF THE DAMN CAR and that he’ll be over this evening to put them on. Why the hell he didn’t just put them on in the first place I don’t know.
I’m really upset right now. Just….dammit.
I have a tweeter, and I just updated the layout.
Follow if you wish.
Today I said farewell to my Subaru that I’ve been driving since high school. I will miss it. It was a good run. I will also miss this bumpersticker that I got for free at university. It was always hilarious when I would see people read it and then get a look on their face like, “Is it a political statement sticker or….?” I doubt many people recognized the quotation.
But yes, I will miss you Subi. I wish I could get another one.
So for now I’m using my dad’s old Mercedes. Yey.
